Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity, is celebrating 60 years of making a difference in 2015 and is looking for individuals or teams to fund-raise for the charity by taking part in a 60 themed challenge.
Those that are up for taking part in the charity’s ’60 for 60’ initiative will be supporting children and adults with profound physical and/or learning disabilities, and their families, in Dorset.
To be part of the ’60 for 60’ challenge, friends, family or work colleagues could cycle, run, walk or row 60 miles, give up chocolate, smoking or alcohol for 60 days or anything you wish involving the number 60!
Over the past 60 years Diverse Abilities has grown to support over 600 children and adults every year. During 2015 the charity is aiming to raise £600,000 so it can provide vital support to more people with disabilities in Dorset.
Fiona Hansford, Corporate and Community Manager, said: “We are very excited to be celebrating 60 years of Diverse Abilities and what better way to support the charity than a 60 themed challenge. We hope lots of local people come forward and get involved to help us raise our fundraising target so we can support further people with disabilities in the areas.”
