Diverse Abilities Plus, Dorset’s disability charity, is all set for its fourth annual Rugby Lunch on Friday 5 September at Hoburne Holiday Park in Christchurch, thanks to local business sponsors Saffery Champness Chartered Accountants, Kemp Jones Solicitors and Barclays.
The event is set to be a fantastic day of great entertainment, food, networking opportunities and celebrity speakers, all in aid of the charity that supports over 600 children and adults with profound physical and learning disabilities in the county.
Over the past three years the event has raised a combined total of £53,000 and it is hoped this year will result in the same success and vital funds will be raised to ensure the charity can continue to provide its varying services and increase the number of people it supports in Dorset.
The sporting lunch kicks off at 11.45am with welcome drinks, before guests sit down for a three course meal and hear from two celebrity guest speakers. There will also be an opportunity to win the famous knife, fork and spoon, raffle and auction lots, of which prizes are donated from local businesses and celebrities.
A surprise celebrity guest speaker as well as David Duckham MBE, an on-going and enthusiastic supporter of Diverse Abilities, will be entertaining the attendees on the day. David, the England, Barbarians and British Lions legend and known in his day for his great pace, swerves and side step, is sure to provide an amusing after-dinner speech.
Sharon Wells, Events Fundraiser, said: “The past three year’s events have been an incredible success and we are already looking forward to this year’s sporting lunch. We are very confident it is going to be another fantastic and entertaining occasion for all those in attendance.
“We’d also like to thank our generous sponsors for supporting the event – Saffery Champness as headline sponsor, Kemp Jones Solicitors as table sponsor and also Barclays.”
Roger Wareham, a partner at Saffery Champness, said: “We are delighted to be the headline sponsor at this year’s event and for the opportunity to support such an important local charity as Diverse Abilities Plus. The services they provide make an invaluable difference not just to hundreds of people but also their families.”
Rayner Jones from Kemp Jones Solicitors said: “I have some personal experience of the fantastic work done by the charity and am very happy to provide support where I can. The great thing about Diverse Abilities is that they focus its resources on what local families actually need in dealing with the difficulties they face – practical, personal help and support on an ongoing basis.”
Tickets for the highly-anticipated lunch are priced at £49.00 per person or £475 per table of ten. To purchase, please contact Sharon Wells on 01202 718266 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
