There is less than one month to go until the Great Dorset Bake Sale being run by Dorset charity, Diverse Abilities, from Monday 5 to Sunday 11 May 2014. The event, sponsored by social enterprise Supply Shack, is gearing up to be the best yet with many local individuals, companies, clubs and schools taking part.
In the Poole and Bournemouth area Tesco at Tower Park, House magazine, Store and Secure, Ferndown School and Santander at Bournemouth University are just a few of those baking cakes and making a difference to children and adults with disabilities in Dorset. Plus the ‘Broadstone Bake Off’ event, being held on Saturday 10 May, will be raising money for Diverse Abilities throughout the day.
West Dorset is also getting involved with Fresh Bites Sandwich Bar and STEPS Club for Young People in Weymouth and Every Cloud Boutique in Dorchester baking a difference for the charity that supports over 600 adults and children in the local area.
Diverse Abilities is still recruiting keen bakers to take part and raise much needed funds to ensure the 250,000 hours of support it provides, across its range of vital services, can continue to run.
Beccy Payne, Corporate and Community Fundraiser at Diverse Abilities, said: “Come and join our Great Dorset Bake Sale this year and hope raise money for a great cause. If you love cake, love baking or just love eating it, please do come and get involved!”
Everyone that signs-up with receive a fundraising pack with bake sale tips, cake recipes to choose from and how to make your Great Dorset Bake Sale event a success, plus much more!
All event sit-ups will also be in with a chance to win two tickets to the Great British Bake Off’s star Paul Hollywood’s Get Your Bake on Tour in Bournemouth, thanks to Supply Shack.
