Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity, is celebrating its 60th anniversary next year and has limited spaces available for people to take part in its Spinnaker Tower abseil in Portsmouth on Sunday 5 July, during the charity’s diamond year.
This exciting event will give participants the chance to take in some spectacular views stretching up to 23 miles in all directions, as they descend 328ft down the iconic tower, while raising money for the charity to provide invaluable support to the people it works with across the wide range of services.
Those daring to take on the challenge will be harnessed up and trained by a team of professional and highly skilled abseil instructors, who will ensure that those taking part are equipped with the knowledge and training to make their abseil safe and as enjoyable as possible.
Sharon Wells, Events Fundraiser at Diverse Abilities, said: “Nothing beats the feeling from standing at a great height, knowing what you are about to experience. It is a great challenge to undertake and abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower would be a fantastic achievement, all while raising funds for a local charity that supports children and adults with profound disabilities in Dorset. The spaces are limited so we advise you to book early.”
No experience is necessary to undertake this invigorating challenge – just lots of enthusiasm. The entry fee is £25 person and minimum sponsorship is £250. The minimum age to take part is 18 years old.
